Last week Guns N Roses began teasing North American fans again with subtle hints of a potential tour in 2017 as well. Axl, Slash, and Duff are currently down in South and Central America as they wrap this part of their Not In This Lifetime Tour.

Early in 2017 they’ll be heading to Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, and Dubai and running until March. That leaves their spring and summer 2017 schedules open to pencil in additional North American dates for cities that didn’t get stadium shows in 2016.

Promo videos began running on television stations over the long Thanksgiving weekend along with billboards popping up in places like El Paso, TX, Minneapolis, MN, Vancouver & Montreal, Canada and Lancaster, PA among other places.

Last week this video arrived on their YouTube channel proclaiming Guns N’ Roses – #GnFnR2017 … The Machine Is Back At It! It looks like after a year-long reconciliation on the road, the band are back to their old ways of touring like a machine.

Time to ask Santa for those Ticketmaster gift cards kiddos! Save up those 2017 vacation days because all evidence points to a 2017 North American arena tour for Guns N Roses.

Have you seen a billboard pop up in your city? Send us a photo of it in the comments below. Share your memories of seeing Guns N Roses in the past or your excitement for these potential 2017 shows.

Life On The Scene has enjoyed Slash & Duff in their side projects like Velvet Revolver, Loaded, Camp Freddy and other charitable events over the years so here are a few photos to tide you over.

The Rolling Stones Ready to Kick Off 50 & Counting Tour; Depeche Mode Announce Surprise FREE Show at Troubadour

It’s a great time for fans of iconic rock bands like the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Depeche Mode all of whom are set to launch tours in the next couple weeks.

The Rolling Stones have set up shop in Los Angeles where they began rehearsals for their “50 & Counting” North American Tour last week. The tour is scheduled to kick-off May 2nd* at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles (*date tentative due NHL playoff scheduling).

Speculation of a “surprise” nightclub show in the Los Angeles area have Rolling Stones fans running rabid at the mouth as they try to plot the iconic bands next moves. The Rolling Stones have traditionally done a “surprise warm-up” show at a large nightclub or small theater before they kick off a tour. Excitement is high as the Stones have rarely kicked off a North American Tour on the West Coast.

The Rolling Stones 2013 Tour Dates can be found here along with links to purchase tickets. Don’t miss your chance to be part of music history! Grab your tickets before they are gone.

“GRRR!”, the latest from the Rolling Stones featuring two new songs titled “Doom and Gloom” and “One More Shot” is available now on iTunes.

Legendary English 80’s band, Depeche Mode, have kicked off the week with the announcement of a FREE show this Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA. The ONLY way in to this tiny, tiny show is to win tickets from Los Angeles radio station, the world-famous KROQ 106.7. Depeche Mode will be playing to an audience of just 400 people, the most smallest show they have ever played in Los Angeles. This will be their surprise warm up show before they launch their world tour on May 4th in France. Don’t fret (well not too much anyway) if you don’t win tickets to see them this week because they will return to Los Angeles at the end of September for three shows at the Staples Center. A full list of tour dates can be found on the Depeche Mode site. Their latest album, “Delta Machine” is out on iTunes now.

Sir Paul McCartney is also in Los Angeles rehearsing for his “Out There” tour which also kicks off May 4th in South America before heading to North America for a tour along with a handful of scheduled European dates. Stop by his site for more information.

The 2013 concert season is shaping up to be a hell of a good ride with so many rock legends hitting the road this year. Now if we could just get our hands on the winning lotto numbers so we could check out all of these amazing artists touring this year we’d be set. Check back as Life On The Scene hopes to bring you coverage of some of these great shows this year!

Who are you most excited to see this year on the concert trail? Let us know in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you.

The Jonas Brothers Announce South American Tour Dates

I feel remiss in the fact that I never completed my review of the Jonas Brothers concerts that took place at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre just after Thanksgiving. However, anytime seems like a good time to discuss the former Disney darlings doesn’t it? Before I pontificate on the merits and possibly demerits of the Jonas Brothers, let me disclose that one of the many, many hats I wear in life is that of a parent to a nearly twelve-year-old daughter who adores the Jonas Brothers.  So while I have covered their events in the past as a member of the media, I am pretty much always looking at them from a dual perspective – photographing and/or reviewing their live performances or latest CD while simultaneously watching the experience through the eyes of my daughter.

Let’s get down to business then, the Jonas Brothers are back! It’s been more than three years since their last studio album, 2009’s Lines, Vines and Trying Times. The Brothers have been hard at work in the studio on their as yet untitled fifth studio album scheduled for release in early 2013. Individually the brothers have been busy during the past 3 years with Nick releasing his solo effort, Who I Am as Nick Jonas and the Administration, testing out the waters in the theater world with performances in Les Misérables, Hairspray and Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Joe Jonas  released his solo effort, Fastlife. Both brothers did some touring with their solo releases while older brother Kevin got married to longtime girlfriend Danielle Deleasa and enjoyed life with his new bride. Eventually they brought their newlywed adventures to a TV screen near you in E!’s reality show Married to Jonas which has just been picked up for a 2nd season.

The boys that ruled the Disney airwaves grew into young men, and parted ways with Disney during their hiatus from being a band while Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and One Direction took over the world of teen angst in their place.  2012 saw the Jonas Brothers return to the touring world, offering fans just a smattering of tour dates around the globe including places like Moscow, Russia, New York City, the Philippines and finally a stretch of sold out shows at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, CA along with an appearance at KIIS FM‘s annual Jingle Ball.

The question that comes to mind – do the Jonas Brothers still have what it takes? Fickle teen hearts moved on to worship Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber and One Direction. Would they return to the fold to see what Kevin, Joe and Nick have to offer now? Will they still dance to those “old” songs? Will they embrace the news songs debuted at these live shows – “Wedding Bells”, an ode to ex-flame Miley Cyrus penned by the younger Jonas, Nick. A track called “First Time” which Joe joked was about “the first time, you, uh, eat food” at the Pantages show. The answer so far is yes, for the most part, the fans have flocked back to the trio of brothers and the shrieks still threaten to break the sound barrier as the screen goes up to start their show.

The thought that has bounced around in my head though is the age-old game teenagers play with their peers. Why is it that teenagers must “hate” on each others musical tastes? Does it stem from the lack of confidence, struggle to fit in, the need to be popular or some sort of jealousy? I have friends who grew up in the 1960’s and described to me how it was either the Beatles or the Stones, you were an oddball if you liked both. I experienced it as a teenager in the 1980’s when the kids at school teased you for loving Duran Duran or Depeche Mode because those bands sucked in their opinion. How long does it take for one to mature enough to simply respect their friend’s choice in music? Personally, I’m happy that so far my daughter doesn’t change her mind on which bands she likes to listen to with the day of the week. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this teenage phenomenon in the comments below.

In conclusion, for those that do enjoy seeing the Jonas Brothers live in concert (which we certainly do), they have just announced the first of their 2013 tour dates – a trek through Latin America that kicks off in February. Fan club tickets and VIP packages are available now via the Jonas Brothers website with public on sales to follow through Ticketmaster. Here are the dates:

Idol has never shied away from the truth of his rock & roll lifestyle so this is likely to be a great tell all unlike many of the glossed over auto-biographies we tend to see.

Idol also debuted several new tracks during his summer 2010 tour including one called Love Is Strange. Expect a new album & tour by the end of next year as well.

The Jonas Brothers Close Out The Road Dogs Season With A Win!

LONG BEACH – The stands were filled with cheering tweens & teenage girls as the Jonas Brothers each went up to bat in the final Road Dogs game of the season in Blair Field on Sunday (the game was moved from Irvine).

During the game, a couple thousand fans joined the brothers in pledging not to text while driving or by designating someone to answer the phone while the car is in motion by adding their thumbprint to a banner promoting “X The Text” sponsored by Allstate insurance.

The brothers said they chose to support the campaign to help raise awareness of this killer on the rise. Recent statistics show that:

The Road Dogs won 15-7 against the Marquis Jet Flyers on Sunday, pulling in the win for the season and delighting their fans. Fans cheered on from the stands as the Jonas brothers were presented with the trophy for the winning season.

The  Jonas Brothers also wrapped up their summer tour, Camp Rock Live! featuring Demi Lovato in Irvine, CA on Sunday night.  Camp Rock 2 is out on Disney DVD and Blu-Ray now.
