Last week Marriott Rewards members were treated to a free concert by pop superstars Demi Lovato and MTV VMA Best New Artist, DNCE. Marriott Rewards members had to log in to their rewards account, select the event, apply a special code and they could request a free pair of concert tickets. The concert took place at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles for about 1,700 concert-goers near the J. W. Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels. Guests over the age of 21 enjoyed complimentary cocktails during the hour-long concert which featured a special duet between Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato on DNCE’s latest hit, Toothbrush.
DNCE will release their self-titled debut album, DNCE, in November. Demi Lovato just wrapped up her co-headlining Future Now tour with Nick Jonas.
The Marriott Rewards program has just completed its merger with the Ritz Carlton Rewards program and the Starwood Preferred Guest Program. Last weekend the iHeart Radio Music Festival once again took over the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Two nights & a day of live music. It was an amazing weekend filled with such a variety of music that there had to be something there for everyone! Young artists like Sam Smith and Demi Lovato took the stage inbetween veteran acts like Coldplay, the Killers and Duran Duran. Jason Derulo glistened under the spotlight after losing his shirt and revealing his six pack abs. Lil Wayne even had the grannies in the audience hopping around. Newer acts like James Bay, Shawn Mendes, George Ezra and Walk the Moon made it worth a day outside in the Las Vegas heat. There was a country crooner each night for those who like that sort of music (or might enjoy a bathroom or beverage break).

LONG BEACH – The stands were filled with cheering tweens & teenage girls as the Jonas Brothers each went up to bat in the final Road Dogs game of the season in Blair Field on Sunday (the game was moved from Irvine).
During the game, a couple thousand fans joined the brothers in pledging not to text while driving or by designating someone to answer the phone while the car is in motion by adding their thumbprint to a banner promoting “X The Text” sponsored by Allstate insurance.
The brothers said they chose to support the campaign to help raise awareness of this killer on the rise. Recent statistics show that:
